Buttler explained that the team wanted to play the match, and it was tough luck that they didn’t get the chance to do so. He also expressed hope for playing the next match in good weather conditions.

“We just wanted to get underway and get a full game and stuff, but that has not happened, that’s the situation we find ourselves in. Hopefully we get a dry game into the next one and we can get into the tournament.” Jos Buttler said.

Speaking about the decision to select the playing XI for the team, Buttler added that it was a tough call that he had to make. He explained that the team liked the combination of Mark Wood and Jofra Archer and they could’ve been an asset, had the match not been abandoned.
