“I had a little bit of luck, did not time it well, just got over the rope, delighted with the win,” said Buttler, reflecting on his winning hit over the deep mid-wicket fence. He also emphasized the mental challenges in cricket, stating, “However long you’ve played the game, you still have those anxieties and stresses.”

This century also made Buttler only the second player in IPL history to score a century in his 100th match, after KL Rahul. Buttler’s contribution to RR’s success in the IPL has been immense, as he now holds the record for the most Player of the Match awards for RR in the tournament.

Despite Buttler’s heroics, the match also showcased Virat Kohli‘s brilliance, as he scored his eighth IPL century and ninth overall in T20 cricket. However, Kohli’s century could not secure a win for RCB, highlighting the team’s dependence on him for success.

Buttler’s performance has not only etched his name in IPL history but also underscored his value as a key player for RR in IPL 2024. As RR continues its winning streak, Buttler’s form will be crucial for the team’s success in the tournament.
