While the last-minute checking is going on, the big news has reached. As per reports, Rajasthan Royals player Joe Root decided to opt out of the IPL 2024. That is a setback for RR. In the previous season, Root was picked for 1 crore by Rajasthan Royals. The talented English batter didn’t look promising with the bat and also with the ball. He played three matches for Rajasthan Royals and scored only 10 runs and didn’t take any wickets.
Rajasthan Royals’s Director of Cricket said, “ During our retention conversation, Joe informed us of his decision to not take part in IPL 2024. Even in a short span of time, Joe was able to create such a positive impact on the franchise and the players around him. His energy around the group and the experience he brought to the Royals will be missed. We respect his decision totally and wish him success in everything he does.”
Rajasthan’s Latest Trade:
Before the trade deadline, Rajasthan Royal made one official trade as of now. They traded Devdutt Padikkal to Lucknow Super Giants and took Avesh Khan from the franchise. Other than that, there is no official news of RR’s retention or releases. They have a good team. Star players like Jos Buttler are there in the team. Youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag are in extremely good form. They will be a good asset to the team.
The Trade window will be closed on November 26. After that, on December 19, the auction for IPL 2024 will happen in Dubai. The number of players will take part in that auction. In the last edition, RR started the campaign extremely well but in the end, they lost their flow. They were knocked out from the group stage.
