Notably, he became the joint-fastest Indian bowler and the fastest Indian pacer to reach 150 wickets in Test cricket.
Bumrah’s achievements extend beyond the field of play, as he also reached the No. 1 spot in the ICC Test Player Rankings, becoming the first Indian pacer to achieve this feat. Additionally, he has attained the top spot in the rankings for all three formats of the game, highlighting his status as one of the world’s premier bowlers.
In a strategic move, MI opted for a change in leadership ahead of IPL 2024, appointing Hardik Pandya as the new captain in place of Rohit Sharma. Pandya, who was released by MI ahead of the 2022 season and subsequently led the Gujarat Titans to victory in their debut IPL season, brings a fresh perspective and leadership style to the team.
