Narine’s explosive 21-ball half-century put the world-class bowling attack of DC under immense pressure right from the outset. Despite being dropped by David Warner in the first over bowled by Anrich Nortje, Narine continued his onslaught, scoring a career-best 85 runs off just 39 deliveries.
Although skipper Shreyas Iyer failed to make a significant contribution with the bat for Kolkata, the power-packed performances of Andre Russell (41), Rinku Singh (26), and youngster Angkrish Raghuvanshi (54) further bolstered KKR’s innings.
