Ishant Sharma Twists Ankle in Fielding Mishap, A Big Setback for Delhi Capitals in the First Match

The IPL 2024 started with great thrills. Since the opening match between CSK and RCB, the tournament has shown its flavor. In the second match, Delhi Capitals is locking horns with Punjab Super Kings. In the second innings when Punjab was batting, DC got a setback. While fielding, Ishant Sharma got injured and went out of the field.

Ishant Sharma’s Injury:

In the sixth over, Mitchell Marsh took the ball in hand, ready to make an impact with his bowling. On the third delivery of his over, he managed to restrict Prabhsimran Singh to just a single run. Marsh executed a well-disguised slower ball, pitching it on a good length and targeting the middle stump. Prabhsimran picked it up and flicked it towards deep mid-wicket, setting off for a quick run. However, the unfortunate turn of events occurred as Ishant Sharma, positioned at mid-wicket, twisted his right ankle in an attempt to field the ball. Now writhing on the ground in discomfort, Ishant’s injury poses a potential setback for the team.

The severity of Ishant Sharma’s injury became apparent as he struggled to rise from the ground after twisting his right ankle. Nagraj, reporting from the ground, highlighted the distressing scene as the physiotherapists, led by Patrick Farhart, rushed onto the field to attend to Ishant. With the assistance of a few individuals, Ishant was eventually helped up, albeit cautiously, taking ginger steps forward.
