Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders will meet each other for the second match of Thursday. IPL 2021: Amit Mishra Warned for Applying Saliva on the Ball

Prithvi Shaw has made a great comeback to form and showed the true strength of his character in last couple of months. After a poor IPL 2020 and Australia tour along team India, a publicly criticised Shaw did what he could do best in that situation. He practiced hard, had a great Vijay Hazare Trophy and also continued his form in this IPL. He started with a bang to score and 34-ball 72 in their opening matches. Despite few single digit scores Shaw looks to be a much better player this year and already piled up 187 runs with a strike rate above 150. He was also the man-of-the-match in Capitals’ last win. Against KKR he has a great record and scored three fifties in four matches including a 99. He would look to make a key contribution in this match also.

It is a big indication of changing times in IPL that Sunil Narine is not a sure starter for Kolkata Knight Riders. The West Indian all-rounder was one of the biggest match winners for the Knights and in earlier years changed courses of many matches with his smart bowling and explosive batting at the top. However, with time the potency has dropped from his bowling and opponents also found ways to contain him while batting. As a result, Narine was not part of the KKR first eleven in first few matches. However, after couple of losses he has returned to the eleven and played last three matches. He was not that impactful in batting but with the ball in hand he did managed to control the middle overs. He has already picked up three wickets and maintained an economy rate of 6.33. KKR may even opt for Narine during the Powerplay against the Capitals’ openers, against whom Narine have a pretty decent record.
