IPL Points Table 2023: Updated After SRH vs RCB Match 65

In a high-stakes match with playoff implications, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) faced off against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in a thrilling encounter. SRH set a challenging target of 187 runs, thanks to an outstanding T20 hundred by Heinrich Klaasen. However, RCB’s batting duo of Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis responded with exceptional performances, boosting their team’s playoff hopes.

The match witnessed a remarkable milestone as Kohli etched his name in IPL history, registering his sixth century in the tournament. Virat Kohli‘s magnificent knock, coupled with du Plessis’ brilliant display, propelled RCB towards a remarkable victory. When Kohli departed, RCB needed a mere 15 runs from 13 balls, a task they accomplished with relative ease, ultimately triumphing with four balls to spare.

Earlier, SRH struggled initially as their opening pair struggled to score freely. However, Klaasen’s arrival injected life into their innings. He displayed incredible batting skills, particularly against spin, forcing RCB to bring back their fast bowlers earlier than anticipated. While Mohammed Siraj and Wayne Parnell managed to keep the scoring in check, Klaasen proved to be a thorn in Harshal Patel’s side.

His assault compelled RCB to introduce an over of spin during the death overs, which Klaasen promptly dispatched for successive sixes, adding further impetus to SRH’s total. Despite Klaasen’s sensational century, the lack of substantial support from his teammates limited SRH to a final total of 186 runs, leaving them vulnerable in the face of RCB’s formidable batting lineup.

RCB’s successful chase was only the third time they had achieved victory while chasing a target of 185 or more in the IPL. The win bolstered their chances of making it to the playoffs as MI have momentarily snatched away the fourth place from the Mumbai Indians. SRH, on the other hand, are crippling at the bottom of the table.
