IPL Points Table 2023: Updated After KKR vs CSK Match 33

RCB record their 4th win of the season

In the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Rajasthan Royals, RCB managed to defend a total despite a collapse towards the end of their innings. RCB now stand level on points with table leaders Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants and are currently at the 5th spot in the Points Table. Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, have managed to safeguard their 2nd position despite the defeat.

The match had many unexpected twists and turns, but the highlight of RCB’s victory was a stunning 127-run partnership between Glenn Maxwell and Faf du Plessis. The two batsmen came together when RCB was struggling at 12 for 2 and managed to turn the tide in their favor with some exceptional batting.

The Rajasthan Royals needed 65 runs off 28 balls to win, but Shimron Hetmyer failed to connect cleanly with any deliveries due to the ball reversing. Dhruv Jorel kept RR alive with his 34 off 16, but his failed attempt at a suicidal second run in the 19th over handed the strike to Ashwin for the last over, eventually leading to RR’s downfall

CSK decimate KKR in the second game of the day

In the match between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders, CSK posted a record-breaking score of 235-4, thanks to explosive innings from Ajinkya Rahane, Shivam Dube, and Devon Conway. Rahane hit five sixes in his 29-ball 71, while Dube and Rahane put on a 73-run partnership in the middle. KKR started their chase poorly, losing Sunil Narine and N Jagadeesan early on.

However, Venkatesh Iyer and Nitish Rana briefly revived their hopes before Moeen Ali and Ravindra Jadeja took wickets in consecutive overs. Jason Roy hit three consecutive sixes off Moeen Ali but was eventually dismissed. Despite Rinku Singh’s half-century, KKR fell short, and CSK won comfortably. The match was notable for CSK’s record-breaking score and KKR’s inability to match it, despite some impressive hitting from their batsmen.

After today’s win, CSK have risen to the top of the Points Table. They now have 5 wins in 7 games and are the only team with 10 points. KKR, on the other hand, hasv just 2 wins in 7 games and are reeling at the 8th spot in the Points Table, just above Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals.
