IPL 2024 Schedule to be announced tomorrow on Jiocinema at 5 PM

The 2024 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to kick off from March 22, according to league chairman Arun Dhumal. Despite the coinciding dates with general elections in India, the entire tournament will be held in the country. Dhumal mentioned that the schedule for the first 15 days of the tournament will be announced initially, with the remaining fixtures to be decided after the announcement of the election dates, expected early next month.

In 2009, the entire IPL was held in South Africa, while in 2014, the opening 20 games were played in the UAE due to general elections. However, in 2019, the entire event was held in India despite the elections. The 2020 and 2021 seasons were also partially or entirely held in the UAE due to Covid restrictions in India.

The IPL 2024 final is likely to be held on May 26, just before the T20 World Cup in the USA and West Indies, which starts on June 1. India, placed in Group B, will begin their campaign on June 5 against Ireland in New York.

As per tradition, the IPL opener will feature last year’s finalists, with the winners Chennai Super Kings taking on the runners-up Gujarat Titans.

The players’ auction for the 2024 season was held in December last year, with Australian pacer Mitchell Starc becoming the most expensive player in the league’s history after being bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders for ₹24.75 crore.

The upcoming IPL season promises to be an exciting event, with fans eagerly anticipating the return of the league to Indian soil.
