The Chennai crowd experienced a thrilling Qualifier 2 match. After conquering the group stage with excellence, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals met each other on this big stage. The clash was intense as both teams were eyeing the final spot. In this match, the bowlers of both teams showcased some brilliant performances which impacted the Purple Cap list.
Rajasthan’s Amazing Bowling:
Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals faced each other in the Qualifier 2 match in Chennai. After winning the toss, Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson opted to bowl first. While bowling first, Trent Boult got the first breakthrough for his team. He dismissed Abhishek Sharma in the very first over. In the fifth over, again he dismissed Rahul Tripathi. In the same over, he got another wicket while dismissing Aiden Markram.
RR bowlers kept creating pressure on opponent. Travis Head was scoring well but Sandeep Sharma picked him up when he was on 34 runs. At that point, Avesh Khan got two consecutive wickets while dismissing Nitish Kumar Reddy and Abdul Samad. Heinrich Klaasen scored an amazing half-century and aimed to push the innings more. But Sandeep Sharma dismissed him on a crucial point. Avesh Khan and Trent Boult got three wickets each and Sandeep Sharma ended up taking 2 wickets. They restricted Hyderabad on 175 runs.
Hyderabad’s outstanding Bowling:
While bowling in the second innings, Sunrisers Hyderabad created magic with the ball. Skipper Pat Cummins led the way from the front. He dismissed Cadmore in 10 runs and registered the first breakthrough for his team. But the biggest surprise came when Abhishek Sharma came to bowl and dismissed Sanju Samson. That was a big wicket. Shahbaz Ahmed dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal on 42 runs.
After those early wickets, Rajasthan Royals was in pressure and the SRH bowlers used this situation. Shahbaz Ahmed dismissed Riyan Parag on a crucial point. Abhishek Sharma got another wicket while dismissing Shimron Hetmyer. Shahbaz Ahmed ended up taking 3 wickets in 23 runs. Abhishek Sharma took 2 wickets in 24 runs. Pat Cummins and T Natarajan took 1 wicket each. With that amazing dominance, they stopped Rajasthan in 139 runs. Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated 36 runs and secured their spot in the final.
