IPL 2024 Purple Cap: Updated After Lucknow Super Giants vs Chennai Super Kings Match No. 34

Another thrilling match was added to the book of the IPL 2024. On the 34th match of the IPL 2024, Lucknow Super Giants locked horns with Chennai Super Kings at the Ekana Stadium. In that match, the bowlers showcased their prowess which affected the result. Those performances made some notable changes in the Purple Cap list.  

Lucknow’s Bowling Display:

Initially, after winning the toss, Lucknow Super Giants opted to bowl first. They gave an amazing start. In the second over, Mohsin Khan dismissed Rachin Ravindra. That was a great success. Then CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad was dismissed in 17 runs in a delivery by Yash Thakur. After that, Krunal Pandya came and dismissed Ajiyanka Rahane. 

Marcus Stoinis dismissed Shivam Dube on a very crucial point. But they struggled to dismiss Ravindra Jadeja who was going strong. Krunal Pandya ended up taking 2 wickets in 16 runs. Mohsin Khan, Yash Thakur, Ravi Bishnoi, and Marcus Stoinis ended up taking 1 wicket each. They restricted the opponent to 176 runs. 

Chennai’s Bowling Struggle:

Chennai entered the game riding high after a win in their previous match, but their bowlers faced challenges this time. Mustafizur Rahman managed to take just one wicket, conceding 43 runs. Matheesha Pathirana also took one wicket, giving away 29 runs. However, the rest of the bowling attack struggled and failed to claim any wickets.

The team couldn’t find their rhythm on the field, and their performance suffered as a result. In the end, Chennai lost the match by a significant margin of 8 wickets, leaving them disappointed. They’ll need to regroup and adjust their strategy for their next match to bounce back from this defeat.
