IPL 2024 Purple Cap: Updated After Kolkata Knight Riders vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Qualifier 1

One more exciting season of the IPL has come to an end. After creating a lot of exciting memories, IPL 2024 has reached the playoff stage. As the four teams secured themselves in the points table, Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad faced each other in the first qualifier at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The match was filled with some classy bowling performances. Those impacted the purple cap list.

After showcasing brilliance in the whole group stage, Kolkata Knight Riders faced Sunrisers Hyderabad in the match. Since the beginning, KKR showcased its dominating side. While opening the bowling spell for the team, Mitchell Starc got the first wicket in the first over while dismissing Travis Head. Vaibhav Arora kept the domination alive and dismissed Abhishek Sharma on 3 runs. Rahul Tripathi was going well.

After dismissing Nitish Kumar Reddy and Shahbaz Ahmed, KKR took control of the game. At that point, Rahul Tripathi and Heinrich Klaasen were making a crucial partnership. But Varun Chakravarthy dismissed  Klaasen on a crucial point. SRH skipper Pat Cummins was dismissed by Andre Russel scoring 30 runs. The KKR bowlers stopped SRH in 159 runs. 

Hyderabad’s Bowling Struggle:

After being dominated in the first innings, they kept struggling in the second innings while bowling. In the fourth over, T Natarajan dismissed Rahmanullah Gurbaz on 23 runs in 14 balls. After that, Pat Cummins dismissed Sunil Narine. After that, the SRH bowlers didn’t get any wickets. Bhubaneswar Kumar conceded 28 runs in 3 overs. Vijayakanth Viyaskanth conceded 22 runs in 2 overs. Nitish Kumar Reddy also bowled but didn’t get any wickets. KKR defeated them by 8 wickets.
