Double in anything makes it special. If it’s in cricket, then it becomes more special. Something similar happened in this IPL 2024. On March 23, the entire cricket world experienced two thrilling IPL fixtures. In the first half, Punjab Kings locked horns with Delhi Capitals. In the second half, Kolkata Knight Riders faced Sunrisers Hyderabad at their home. Those fixtures pushed the competition of the Purple Cap more intensely.
In the first match, Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings met in Punjab’s home ground. After DC gave an excellent start, Punjab bowlers came to dominate them. Arshdeep Singh got the first success for the team. He picked up Mitchell Marsh on 20 runs. After that, Harshal Patel dismissed David Warner. Then Kagiso Rabada dismissed Sai Hope. Harshal Patel and Arshdeep Singh ended up taking 2 wickets. Kagiso Rabada, Harpreet Brar, and Rahul Chahar ended up taking 1 wicket each.
On the other hand, DC bowlers struggled in the second innings. Initially, Ishant Sharma made an amazing run out while dismissing Jonny Bairstow. Khalil Ahmed ended up taking 2 wickets in 43 runs. Kuldeep Yadav shined again. He took 2 wickets in 20 runs. Ishant Sharma took 1 wicket in 16 runs. Punjab won the match by 4 wickets.
The second one was a pure thriller. KKR met SRH at Eden Gardens. In the beginning, the Hyderabad bowlers gave a great start. Shahbaz Ahmed did an amazing run out to Sunil Narine. After that, T Natarajan picked up Venkatesh Iyer. After that, he again picked up skipper Shreyas Iyer. Natarajan took 3 wickets in 32 runs. Mayank Markande took 2 wickets in 39 runs. Pat Cummins took 1 wicket.
On the flip side, After having a great start, Mayank Agarwal lost his wicket to Harshit Rana. KKR slowly captured the match. The bowlers were amazing. Harshit Rana took 3 wickets. At a point when Heinrich Klaasen was smashing the boundaries, KKR was under pressure. But Harshit Rana’s delivery dismissed him and Suyash Sharma took the amazing catch. Andre Russell took 2 wickets in 25 runs. Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine took 1 wicket each. KKR snatched the match by 4 runs.
