IPL 2024 Purple Cap: Updated After CSK vs RR and RCB vs DC Match No.61 & 62

On the first match of the day, Chennai Super Kings locked horns with Rajasthan Royals in Chennai. The match experienced some incredible performances. While bowling first, the Chennai bowlers showcased their dominating side. Tushar Deshpande and Simarjeet Singh showcased their best effort. Simrajeet Singh started the domination by picking up Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson in the beginning. Tushar Deshpande ended the attack by picking up Dhruv Jurel and Shubham Dubey. They restricted Rajasthan Royals to 141 runs. 

After struggling while batting in the first innings, Rajasthan Royals faced hardships while batting in the second innings. Ravichandran Ashwin got the first breakthrough while dismissing Rachin Ravindra on 27 runs. After that, Yuzvendra Chahal dismissed Daryl Mitchell. Nandre Burger sent Moeen Ali off to the pavilion. Ravichandran Ashwin secured 2 wickets after conceding 35 runs. But their efforts fell short and faced a defeat of 5 wickets.  

Delhi’s Bowling Display and RCB’s Brilliance:

In the 62nd match of the IPL 2024, Royal Challengers Bengaluru faced Delhi Capitals at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. After winning the toss, Delhi Capitals opted to bowl first. While bowling first, Mukesh Kumar dismissed Faf du Plessis in the 3rd over and secured the first breakthrough for his team. Rasikh Salam bowled exceptionally well and DC showcased their team effort. Khaleel Ahmed and Rasikh Salam secured 2 wickets each Ishant Sharma, Mukesh Kumar, and Kuldeep Yadav secured 1 wicket each. They stopped RCB in 187 runs.

On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bengaluru showcased their classy bowling in this match. Since the beginning of the second innings, they started dominating the Delhi Capitals. Swapnil Singh dismissed David Warner in the first over. Then Yash Dayal came to the action while dismissing Abhishek Porel. He ended up taking three wickets in 20 runs. Lockie Ferguson secured 2 wickets in 23 runs. Cameron Green, Swapnil Singh, and Mohammed Siraj took 1 wicket each. But those bowling displays were enough to outplay the Delhi Capitals/ Royal Challengers Bengaluru won the match by 47 runs.
