At the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Friday, Chennai Super Kings defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets in match 29 of the IPL 2023. With Devon Conway scoring an undefeated 77 runs off 57 balls, CSK reached 138/3 in 18.4 overs while attempting to meet the 135 run mark.
SRH’s bowling unit was led by Mayank Markande, who claimed two wickets. Abhishek Sharma scored 34 runs off 26 balls as SRH initially set 134/7 in 20 overs. For CSK, Ravindra Jadeja grabbed three wickets while playing well.
Dhoni was extremely happy with his team’s performance today and whined about not winning the greatest catch award. The plan was executed well as CSK rebounded from their loss to Rajasthan Royals by winning at home. They now share the same number of victories as the Royals, but due to a lower NRR, they are currently only in third place.

“Whatever said and done, last phase of my career, important to enjoy it. It feels good to be here. They have given a lot of love and affection. They always stay late to listen to me. Not getting a lot of chance to bat – I’m not complaining. You need time to pick his action (Pathirana). He has got variation, he has got good pace. We have seen with Malinga – someone who has an awkward action and who is very consistent with line and length – it’s difficult to score off him. Definitely he has been a find. Once you get old, that’s the only time you get experience. Unless you’re Sachin paaji and start playing at 16-17. Definitely old, can’t shy away from that.”
