IPL 2023 CSK vs PBKS: Dhoni’s two sixes sets the Chepauk on fire

MS Dhoni set the Chepauk on fire with his last-over heroics against the Punjab Kings. Dhoni came in during the last over of the match with 5 balls to go. He could not connect the first 2 balls for a maximum. However, Dhoni turned back the clock and showed that he still has the finisher left in him. Thala hammered 2 sixes in the last 2 balls to take Chennai Super Kings to a total of exact 200 in 20 overs.

He slammed a six on a wide short ball hammering it over the point boundary. Sam Curran overcorrected his length and went full but missed the yorker. Dhoni pounced on the low full toss and the ball went sailing over the midwicket boundary in a flash.

The crowd kept screaming their lungs out as they enjoyed each and every moment of entertainment provided by MS Dhoni. Chennai Super Kings got off to an excellent start thanks to Devon Conway’s unbeaten 92 and an 86-run opening wicket combination with Ruturaj Gaikwad (37). Conway and Shivam Dube scored 44 runs for the second wicket after Dhoni moved Shivam Dube up to number three.

After Dube left, CSK sent two more left-handers to the plate, but they struggled. Moeen Ali, Ravindra Jadeja, and Conway all fell short after blasting beyond the fifty mark.

Conway struggled once he passed the 80-run mark and was undefeated on 92 off 52 balls. MS Dhoni’s sixes rekindled the momentum and CSK concluded at 200/4 in their stipulated 20 overs.

Punjab will believe that they can chase the total given the batting order they have. However, Chennai have been unbeatable at home with their spinners dominating in the home matches. This promises to be an exciting match on a Sunday afternoon.
