PBKS Newcomers to Be in Focus
Punjab Kings are still a heavy top-order side minus Glenn Maxwell and James Neesham. However, Moises Henriques and Dawid Malan seem to be replacements for the. Dabien Allen, on the other hand, is expected to provide late fireworks while the former two are expected to give stability to the middle order. There is Shahrukh Khan who is a big hitter and there’s already a lot of focus on him.
As a newcomer apart from Sharukh Khan, Saurabh Kumar is expected to make it to the headlines in few matches. He has been a consistent performer in domestic cricket. With 192 first-class wickets at 23.44 and economy rates of 4.38 and 7.04 respectively in List A and T20 cricket make shim a potential player to shine from Punjab Kings.
Bowling Centric Strategy
Interestingly, it is the bowling where the franchise spent a lot of money. They bought Jhye Richardson and Riley Meredith, for a whopping amount which proves how they wanted to strengthen their bowling. Last year, they suffered often in this department at the death. Richardson should be expected to bring more consistency and Punjab Kings will be having at least five bowlers settled in for regular roles – Mohammed Shami, M Ashwin, Arshdeep Singh, Ravi Bishnoi, Jhye Richardson.
Henriques will be working as the sixth bowling option and Allen as a spin-bowling all-rounder. This means Chris Jordan will be in a battle for a place inside with Allen. There could be occasions where both Richardson and Meredith could be added in the combination as well.
