As Kolkata Knight Riders are set to take on Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 28th Match of IPL 2020 on October 12, Andre Russell’s injury could be an issue for the side. There is nothing official yet from the camp about the extent of injury yet though.
Injury to Russell
During KKR’s last outing, Andre Russell hurt himself while trying to get a catch. He accidentally dived into the advertisement boards after missing the catch and hurt his knee. Which is why he seems to be a doubtful started for Kolkata Knight Riders’ match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Monday at the iconic Sharjah stadium. After the match against Kings XI Punjab on Saturday, Dinesh Karthik, KKR skipper was asked about the same to which Karthik said, “Whenever Russell gets injured, you know it is hard. He is a very special player, he is a very special person. We need to go and look at him.”
If Andre Russell misses today’s fixture against the mighty Bangalore team, led by Virat Kohli that could be a troublesome situation for Dinesh Karthik’s side. Russell is famous for his hard-hitting batting style. Russell has been a proved match-winner for Kolkata Knight Riders over all these years. Both teams will be playing their 7th match of the season and hence, at such a crucial stage missing out on Russell will not something Kolkata Knight Riders would want.
Russell to roar?
However, it looks like Andre Russell is ready to hit the ground. Kolkata Knight Riders, a while back posted his exercise video on Instagram with the caption, Verified “Chalo, chalo! Dre Russ is pumped, and raring to go! 💪”.
Their recent Tweet also suggested the same. Then posted Russell’s statistics against Royal Challengers Bangalore and wrote, “@Russell12A vs RCB SR- 227.46 Avg- 53.83 Looking forward to some Fireworks tonight!”

This clearly hints on the arrival of Muscle Russell on the Sharjah ground for today’s fixture.
