IPL 2020: Probable Overseas Players of Kolkata Knight Riders

Kolkata Knight Riders will begin their IPL 2020 campaign with a match against Mumbai Indians on September 23, 2020. Overseas players have been an integral part of KKR for a long. In today’s match, they would like to go with the following four overseas cricketers to maintain team balance.

Andre Russell has been a mainstay for Kolkata Knight Riders set-up for years. Russell was KKR’s highest run-scorer and also the highest wicket-taker in the last season. One of his famous performances came against today’s contender, Mumbai Indians when he smashed a 40-ball 80 and took two wickets. Moreover, he is coming from CPL 2020 which means the beast has been in action for the last few days unlike most of the IPL players.

In five CPL matches, Sunil Narine was outstanding as he added 144 runs at a strike rate of 148.4 and took six wickets at an average of 15.2 and an economy of 4.5. The all-rounder is famous for his mystery spin bowling and power-hitting at the T20. A famous T20 name all around the global leagues is a match-winner in every sense and his presence makes a lot of difference in KKR camp.

Eoin Morgan was not in good touch in the recently concluded ODI series against Australia. But his reputation speaks for him. With an average above 30 and strike rate above 138, Morgan remains a key player in the shortest formats of the game for his side. It is impossible to exclude him as he will a huge role to play for the Knights in the days to come in IPL 2020.

One of the top T20 bowlers, Pat Cummins was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for a whopping Rs 15. Crore in the last IPL auction. He will be leading the bowling department for the Knight Riders. The coach already mentioned about Cummins being “an important pick” by the side. While the Eden track can be ideal for a bowler like Cummins, how management uses in him UAE will be an interesting watch.
