And it’s confirmed! The Bangalore based IPL franchise is all set for a makeover. After removing everything from social media accounts on February 12, they finally declared that in the new decade RCB will be all new.
What’s the backdrop?
On February 12 RCB suddenly deleted all their photographs, logos, and posts from social media accounts. These created a lot of buzz. Some reports suggested that RCB would be coming up with new logo and name as well. Reportedly, Bangalore would be replaced with Bengaluru. A couple of days back RDB had signed a partnership with Muthoot Fincorp as well. So, the speculation of RCB getting a new look was making headlines.
Interesting their own players, coach, and finally captain started posting about the same. This might be a well-planned promotional strategy and in the case the team members executed that quite well. Yuzvendra Chahal wrote, “Arey @rcbtweets, what googly is this? Where did your profile pic and Instagram posts go?” Then AB de Villiers surprisingly asked, “Folks at @rcbtweets, what’s happened to our social media accounts? Hope it’s just a strategy break.” Finally, Virat Kohli joined, “Posts disappear and the captain isn’t informed. @rcbtweets, let me know if you need any help.”

Even other franchises started commenting on the same. Delhi Capitals with prior experience in brand makeover wanted to extend help if needed. Harsha Bhogle asked, “Hey guys, any idea what’s on with @rcbtweets? All posts deleted on Instagram, no profile pictures on Twitter and Facebook…..”
But amid all these hullabaloo RCB came up with a post on Thursday morning. They followed a famous social media trend and wrote, “Sit tight. Be right back.”
