IPL 2020: Gambhir Wants More Discussion on Chahal. Here’s Why.

There is one RCB bowler who has been consistently good in this IPL so far. Amid so many star bowlers, Gautam Gambhir thinks that he should be more talked about.

Chahal, an asset for Kohli

The ongoing season of the Indian Premier League in the UAE has already seen bowlers deciding it almost in every match. Even if it is a high-scoring encounter, the bowlers either have taken it to the last over finish or run through the line-up of the opponents pretty quickly. Be it Mohammed Shami from Kings XI Punjab or Kolkata Knight RidersPat Cummins, they have decided fate of IPL 2020 games. Yesterday Kagiso Rabada from Delhi Capitals took four wickets in his four overs whereas Jofra Archer has been an asset for his side, Rajasthan Royals. Amid all this hurrah, there is one name who has been a silent yet consistent performer- Yuzvendra Chahal from Royals Challengers Bangalore.

IPL 2020: 9000 T20 Run Achievement Unlocked by Virat Kohli

Chahal has picked up eight wickets in five matches of Royal Challengers Bangalore so far at an average of 18.00. However, Chahal would like to forget his last outing against Delhi Capitals where he ended up without any wicket and Royal Challengers Bangalore lost the match by 59 runs.

Gambhir on Chahal

Former India batsman Gautam Gambhir led Kolkata Knight Riders to two IPL titles. Under his regime, Kolkata Knight Riders saw impressive growth. Gambhir who was also an effective batsman for Indian cricket team during his cricketing days, said on ESPNCricinfo that Virat Kohli’s leading bowler should be more talked about. “Yuzvendra Chahal has been brilliant. We keep talking about Rashid Khan, Jofra Archer, Kagiso Rabada, Pat Cummins; but Chahal in IPL, especially in this season, has been right up there.”

Gambhir further added, “We should be talking about Chahal much more. There is more hype around other bowlers. But he has done brilliantly for RCB.”
