IPL 2020: A Surprised Stokes gets Fitting Reply from Yuvraj Singh

In the ongoing match of Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunil Narine was seen coming before Eoin Morgan in the middle-order. This surprised Ben Stokes. But he got a fitting reply from former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh on Twitter.

Ben Stokes surprised

Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and decided to bat first. Rahul Tripathi came as the new opener for Kolkata Knight Riders along with Shubman Gill after much controversy. Dinesh Karthik had to face a lot of criticism after Narine’s constant failure as an opener. Moreover, Tripathi was sent at No. 8 in the last outing despite being a specialist batsman. So when he was sent today with Gill to open, the decision was welcomed by all, especially by the fans. Then Tripathi went on to score 81 off 51 balls. In fact, it was Tripathi who stood tall to take KKR score to 167.

Narine, on the other hand, was sent to bat at four. A lot of people were expecting Morgan to come two down but that didn’t happen. This surprised few and Ben Stokes was one of then.

Yuvraj’s explanation

Ben Stokes tweeted saying, “Narine before Morgan???” To this India’s former legendary batsman Yuvraj Singh replied, “Yeah it’s like yuvraj before stokes Face with tears of joy! Sometimes u got let the all-rounders go before , bowlers who can bat before a proper batsman to slog Winking face with tongue!”

Yuvraj Singh was one of the finest all-rounders in the limited-overs Indian cricket history. The way he contributed to India’s World Cup 2011 triumph has gone to folklore. His all-around performance was an asset to the Indian cricket team. Yuvraj Singh here clearly took a dig at the game over dominated by batsmen. All-rounders who are big hitters are often sent to bat in the top order by the team management especially in T20 to accelerate the run rate. And Narine’s big-hitting is world-famous in franchise cricket. Dinesh Karthik must have a thought behind this which was echoed in Yuvraj Singh’s reply to Ben Stokes.
