IPL 2019: The number of catches dropped by RCB this season will blow your mind

Royal Challengers Bangalore have had an awful time in this year’s Indian Premier League. The Virat Kohli-led side has lost all the 6 matches so far. Nothing has gone right for RCB as one game after the other, they have ended up on the losing end. Catches dropped by RCB this IPL will blow your mind.

In the batting department, the over-reliance on Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers has hurt the franchise once again. Kohli is the leading run-getter for them with 203 runs from 6 innings. But he hasn’t looked in his usual form as the captain has struck just 1 fifty this season. Apart from him, de Villiers and Parthiv Patel have done a decent job but there is hardly a contribution from anyone else.

Yuzvendra Chahal is the sole bright spot in the bowling department. He has taken 9 wickets at an economy rate of 6.87. Moeen Ali is the other who has decent stats. But others have gone for plenty. This is the aspect that has hurt the team over the years. RCB just don’t seem to invest in the right guys for the bowling unit.

However, the most disappointing part of RCB’s game has been the fielding. In 6 games so far, the team has dropped as many as 15 catches already. Dropping crucial catches has proved to be costly. Not just catching, their fielding overall has been sloppy.

After every game, Kohli has mentioned that the team doesn’t deserve to win if there is a lack of commitment. In their 6 losses, 5 have been dominated by the opponents. They came close to winning in the match against Kolkata Knight Riders. The batsmen scored 205 runs batting first. In the second innings, KKR needed 53 runs from 3 overs and RCB had the upper hand. But Andre Russell snatched the victory from them with his knock of 48 from 13 balls.
