Indian Premier League 2024 Orange Cap: Updated After Rajasthan Royals vs Mumbai Indians Match No. 38

The 38th clash of the IPL 2024 saw an intense clash between Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. The match becomes thrilling because of the thrilling performances. Rain interruption added some twists to the game. But the batters’ performance brought some notable changes in the Orange Cap list.

Mumbai Indians’Solid Fight:

Seeking redemption after their initial defeat to Rajasthan earlier in the tournament, Mumbai Indians entered the arena with renewed determination. Opting to bat first after winning the toss, they faced early setbacks as Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan departed swiftly, leaving the team reeling. Suryakumar Yadav’s brief stint yielded only 10 runs, intensifying the pressure on Mumbai.

However, the tide turned with Tilak Verma’s resilient innings, anchoring the innings with a commanding 65 runs off 45 deliveries. Nehal Wadhera complemented Verma’s efforts with a blistering knock of 49 runs from just 24 balls, injecting momentum into Mumbai’s innings. Mohammad Nabi’s contribution of 23 runs further bolstered the total. Overcoming the initial setbacks, Mumbai Indians managed to post a respectable total of 179 runs on the scoreboard, showcasing their resilience and determination to bounce back from adversity.

The Royals’ Domination Again:

After showcasing magic in the first innings with the ball, they continued their domination even with the bat. Yasahasvi Jaiswal became the exceptional hero of the match. While chasing the target of 180 runs, Rajasthan Royals gave an amazing start but the rain interrupted in between. But that didn’t distract the RR batters. Coming as an impact player, Jos Buttler was dismissed after scoring 35 runs in 25 balls.

Yashasvi Jaiswal created magic with his bat. While opening the innings, he played an unbeaten century knock. On the other side, Sanju Samson gave him a perfect company. Jaiswal remained unbeaten on 104 runs in 60 balls and secured their victory. Skipper Sanju Samson remained unbeaten on 38 runs in 28 runs. They defeated Mumbai Indians by 9 wickets.
