The night became exciting for the Ahmedabad spectators as the Titans who were batting first, set the stage on fire. While opening the innings, Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan took their innings to another level. Sai Sudharsan scored his maiden IPL century and played a knock of 103 runs in 51 deliveries. The innings was decked up with 5 boundaries and 7 over-boundaries.Â
Shubman Gill also scored his first century of this season. After several disappointments, Gill scored an exceptional century. That knock becomes even more special as it was the 100th century of the tournament. Gill played an exciting knock of 104 runs in 55 balls with an exceptional strike rate of 189.09. David Miller remained unbeaten on 16 runs in 11 balls. With that dominance over the opponent bowlers, Gujarat Titans put on a total of 231/3 in 20 overs.
Chennai’s Fight But Hardluck:
Chasing the target of 232 was hard but not impossible at least for this season. But Chennai couldn’t make it till the end. They lost their first three wickets consecutively. In the third over, they were 10/3. That was a setback for the team. After that, they bounced back. Daryl Mitchell and Moeen Ali made an impactful partnership. Both completed their half-centuries. Mitchell played a knock of 63 runs in 34 balls. Moeen Ali scored 56 runs in 36 balls.
Shivam Dube, batting at number 6, contributed 21 runs off 13 balls, while Ravindra Jadeja added 18 runs from 10 deliveries. MS Dhoni played another unbeaten innings, scoring 26 runs off 11 balls. Despite their efforts, the Chennai Super Kings fell short in their chase. The Gujarat Titans emerged victorious, winning the match by a margin of 35 runs. Despite individual contributions, CSK couldn’t overcome the challenge posed by the Gujarat Titans, resulting in a defeat for the Chennai-based team.
