India and New Zealand are set to battle it out in limited overs series later this month. Team India has announced the squad for the 3-ODI series. Pacers Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Shami have been removed while Shardul Thakur has made a comeback after being dropped for the Australian series. The pair Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah has been doing a wonderful job in the fast bowling department and hence selectors opted to leave out Shami and Yadav.

Other notable exclusion is of the spin duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja. These have been out of the side after the ICC Champions Trophy and in their absence, Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav have stood up big time. The left-arm spinner Axar Patel has also found the backing of the selectors and retains his place in the side.

India and New Zealand will play 3 ODIs and as many T20Is and the Kiwis also had named the full squad earlier in the day after they had announced the preliminary 9-man squad. The ODI series will begin from October 22 with the first ODI in Mumbai.
