IND VS SA: Quinton de Kock Ends Suryakumar Yadav’s Cameo After Taking a Brilliant Catch

The two current World Cup favourites team India and South Africa are facing each other heart-to-heart at the iconic Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata. Having won the toss, team India opted to bat first hoping to put pressure on the Proteas and it did turn out likewise on team India’s part as it delivered a target of 327 runs to South Africa which is commendable indeed. Today was rather a special day for King Kohli as he celebrated his 35th birthday along with slamming down Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 49 ODI centuries.

SKY’s potential cameo

Along with Virat Kohli who was looking up to smash his 49th ODI century, Suryakumar Yadav paid a wonderful heed to team India’s total run delivery. Though he scored 22 runs off 14 deliveries, he smashed a total of 5 boundaries which stood exceptional after serving for such a short time. He was taken by South Africa’s ace spinner Tabraiz Shamsi for 22 after bowling a full length delivery to Suryakumar. With Surya caressing it wide of the short third man, he got an early departure having been caught by South Africa’s ace batsman Quinton de Kock. The catch de Kock took was an extraordinary one as he swept through his way to take the low lying catch.

An exceptional innings by team India

Started by Rohit Sharma, finished off by Ravindra Jadeja, the batting line-up of Indian batters showcased an exceptional execution against South African bowlers today. While Virat Kohli slammed the most important century of his career, Shreyas Iyer departed after smashing a brilliant knock of 77 runs. With South Africa bowlers being consistent with their bowling attack taking one wicket each, they were at least not able to dismantle India’s batting line-up to the core.

With the Proteas yet to bat, the result still remains to be watched at.
