“I’ll be looking like a UFC fighter” West Indies Player Andre Russell Gave a Message Ahead of the T20 World Cup in 2024

After ending the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, the cricket World is gearing up for another World Cup. In 2024, the T20 Cricket World Cup is ready to raise curtains. The tournament is scheduled to happen on June 4. All the preparations are going on. Teams are gearing up well before the tournament. West Indies star Andre Russell gave a message ahead of the global tournament.

Andre Russell’s Words:

After the ODI World Cup, excitement is gearing up for the T20 World Cup. the T20 showdown is scheduled to happen on June 4. The final match will be played on June 30. The entire tournament will be arranged jointly. The matches will be played in the West Indies and the USA. This will be the first edition of the World Cup which is going to happen in the USA. 

Ahead of the World Cup, West Indies played a 5-match T20 series against England. In that series, West Indies performed exceptionally well. They defeated England by a 3-2 margin. Ahead of the T20 World Cup tournament, West Indies power-hitter Andre Russell gave a message. He said, “I’ll be in better shape for the 2024 World Cup. I’ll be looking like a UFC fighter”. 

T20 World Cup 2024:

After 2022, T20 World Cup is going to happen again. In the previous season, England won the previous edition of the tournament. 20 teams from all over the world will take part in the T20 showdown. As per the rules, the top 8 teams of the previous edition will qualify directly. 55 matches will be played from June 4 to June 30. 

For the first time, teams like Canada, Uganda, and the United States have qualified for the tournament. 20 teams will be divided into four groups. The top two teams of each will qualify for the Super 8 stage. The eight teams will qualify into two groups. The top two teams of each group will play in the knockout stage. In the Super 8 stage, the matches will be played in a single round-robin format.
