Since the auction, the mighty squad of Sunrisers Hyderabad was spreading excitement. Having a captain like Pat Cummins and players like Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Heinrich Klaasen, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and others, they conquered the tournament. Their domination becomes an example of excellence. Out of 14 matches they played, registered 8 wins and faced five defeats. They collected 17 points and stood on the second position.

While focusing on this season, the South African player said, “ It’s a very humbling feeling, the crowd has been fantastic this season. Hopefully, it keeps on growing. If we win here tonight, they’ll grow up more.”

Talking About Personal Form:

In this season, Heinrich Klaasen gave a great start. In their inaugural match against KKR, he played a knock of 69 runs in 29 balls. He carried his form forward. But in the middle of the tournament, he faced some setbacks, he was not being able to play long innings. But crossed the hurdle and returned scoring runs.

While talking about personal form, he said, “ Little bit disappointed with how the middle phase of the tournament went. But the last two games, I am quite pleased, small errors here and there, that’s quite easy to fix. Hopefully tonight I can rectify those small errors and make a big impact in the game.”

On the Big Match and Challenges at the Chepauk:

After showcasing excellence throughout the tournament, they entered into the playoffs being the second team. Depending on that, they met Kolkata Knight Riders in the Qualifier 1. But that match was heartbreaking for the Sunrisers as they faced a defeat in that match.

Before stepping into the Qualifier 2, the team is all boosted up. While talking about this, Klaasen said, “I don’t think the way we have played so far is going to change tonight at all. It’s a semi-final, a lot of big individuals need to step up and keep playing our type of brand. If we play our brand of cricket, we will put teams under pressure..”

The Qualifier 2 is taking place at the MA. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. In the group stage, Chennai and Hyderabad locked horns at this venue and faced a huge 78-run defeat. Before stepping into the match, Klaasen talked about that. He said, “It’s a different wicket, boundary size does play a role here. Straight is not too long, the one square boundary is sometimes a little bit bigger than you think it is. Still need to be clever in the way you do things. Hopefully, we can get over the line tonight and put on a better performance in the final.”
