Afghanistan Announce 15-Man squad for ICC CWC 2019

ICC World Cup 2019 Afghanistan Team: Afghanistan squad for World Cup

Afghanistan has persisted with the decision of Gulbadin Naib as the captain for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. The controversial decision saw Asghar Afghan being axed as the captain just before the World Cup. The likes of Rashid Khan and Mohammed Nabi had publicly criticized the decision. But the selectors stayed with Naib.

They have recalled the fast bowler Hamid Hassan after almost 3 years. He had last played an ODI in July 2016 against Ireland. The pacer has been troubled by injuries for long and is a surprise inclusion in the World Cup squad. He had featured in Afganistan’s squad in the 2015 ODI World Cup.

The 15-member squad was selected on the basis of a training camp held in Potchefstroom, South Africa in which 23 players featured. Afghanistan will kick start their World Cup campaign against Australia in Bristol on June 1.

Here is the 15-man Afghanistan Team for World Cup
