Another exciting day of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is here. Two amazing matches happened today. At first, Oman faced Namibia at Barbados, and in the later half, Sri Lanka faced South Africa at New York. Where we have seen super over after long years of World Cup history in OMN vs NAM match, on the other hand, we have South African bowler’s excellence over Sri Lanka, a total entertaining day for all cricket lovers of all over World.
Bowling Performance of OMN vs NAM:
The very first match of the day happened between Oman and Namibia in Barbados. Namibia decided to bowl after winning the toss. They started really well at first and restricted their opponent to 109 runs. From their end, the most from their end was definitely Ruben Trumpelmann as he took 4 crucial wickets. David Wiese picked up 3 wickets. Also, their skipper Gerhard Erasmus took 2 wickets and Bernard Scholtz got a wicket.
On the other hand, when Oman came to defend the total, they also started well. At one point, it felt like Namibia would easily chase it but Oman made it a little difficult for them. In the end, super over came to decide the total. After 12 years of T20 WC, a super over has happened, where finally Namibia has won in the super over of match. From Oman’s side, Mehran Khan picked up 3 wickets. Skipper Aqib Ilyas, Bilal Khan, and Ayaan Khan got one wicket each.
Bowling Performance of SL vs SA:
In the second match, Sri Lanka and South Africa clashed against each other in New York. After winning the toss, the Sri Lanka skipper decided to bat first. But this went the exact opposite of their thought process. Their batting lineup just collided with South Africa’s bowling brilliance. SA pacer Anrich Nortje took 4 wickets by conceding just 7 runs. Also, Kagiso Rabada and Keshav Maharaj have got two wickets each. Sri Lanka could only manage 77 runs.
Other side, Sri Lanka tried hard to defend a small target. But eventually, they faced the first defeat of the tournament. SL skipper Warnindu Hasaranga picked up 2 crucial wickets of Quinton de Kock and Tristan Stubbs. Dasun Shanaka and Nuwan Thushara also picke up 1 wicket each.
