ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 Most Wickets: Updated After Matches 9 to 12

Another exciting day of the T20I World Cup is done. Today fans witnessed three beautiful matches. The very first match of the day happened between Papua New Guinea and Uganda in Guyana. Right after that match, fans witnessed another exciting match between Australia and Oman in Barbados and the last and final match of the day happened between Pakistan and the host USA at Dallas. The night was exciting for the Namibia vs Scotland match. In this article, we will see the standing of bowlers after these three amazing matches.

Bowling Performance of PNG and Uganda Bowlers:

After winning the toss, Uganda decided to bowl first. They bowled really well and restricted Papua New Guinea to only 77 runs. Alpesh Ramjani, Cosmas Kyewuta, Juma Miyagi, and Nsubuga picked up two wickets each respectively. Uganda Skipper Masaba also picked up 1 wicket.

While defending the total, Alei Nao and Norman Vanua picked two wickets each. Chad Soper and PNG skipper Assad Vala also took one wicket each. Despite all efforts, Papua New Guinea lost the match against Uganda.

Bowling Performance of Australia and Oman Bowlers:

In the second match of the T20 World Cup witnessed a clash between Australia and Oman. While batting first, Australia batted well and the Oman bowlers kept struggling. Among all, Mehran Khan shined the bright. He secured 2 wickets in 38 runs. Bilal Khan and Kaleemullah took 1 wicket each and restricted Australia to 164 runs.

In the second match, Australian bowlers showcased dominance. Oman’s bowling lineup got destroyed by the power-packed bowling. Marcus Stoinis was excellent taking 3 wickets in 19 runs. Nathan Ellis, Adam Zampa, and Mitchell Starc took 2 wickets each and restricted the opponent to 125 runs. They defeated Oman by 39 runs. 

Dazzling Bowling Display by Pakistan and the USA:

In the third match, Pakistan met the USA. the match was an immense thriller as it ended on a super over while bowling in the first innings, the USA bowlers shined. Nosthush Kenjige secured 3 wickets in 30 runs. Saurabh Netravalkar took 2 wickets. Ali Khan and Jasdeep Singh got one each. 

On the other hand, Pakistan’s bowling attack was blunt. Naseem Shah got the first breakthrough by dismissing Steven Taylor. Monak Patel and Andries Gous were doing well. But Haris Rauf dismissed Gous. Mohammad Amir dismissed Monak Patel. But the match moved towards super over and USA won the match by 5 runs.

Scotland’s Dominance Over Namibia:

Scotland and Namibia locked horns at night. The match witnessed a thrilling competition from both the teams. While bowling first, Scotland’s bowler Brad Wheal dismissed JP Kotze in the very first over. After that, the other bowlers came to attack. Wheal ended up taking 3 wickets in 33 runs. Bradley Currie secured 2 wickets in 16 runs. Chris Sole, Micheal Leask, and Chris Greaves took 1 each and restricted Namibia to 155 runs. 

On the flip side, Namibian bowlers struggled. Tangeni Lungameni dismissed Munsey and got the first breakthrough. Gerhard Erasmus dismissed Jones and McMullen. Bernard Scholtz dismissed Matthew Cross on an LBW. Ruben Trumpelman dismissed Micheal Leask on 35 runs. But those efforts were not enough and they faced a defea of 5 wickets.
