ICC Announces Nominees for Player of the Month Awards for February

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed the shortlists of nominees for the ICC Men’s and Women’s Player of the Month awards for February 2024. These awards recognize outstanding performances by cricketers in international cricket.

Men’s Player of the Month Nominees:

  1. Yashasvi Jaiswal (IND): Jaiswal had a sensational month in Tests against England, scoring back-to-back double hundreds to help India win three Tests in a row. He amassed 560 runs at an average of 112.
  2. Pathum Nissanka (SL): Nissanka excelled in ODIs and T20Is against Afghanistan, striking Sri Lanka’s first-ever ODI double-century with 210 not out in 139 balls. He scored a total of 346 ODI runs and 91 T20I runs.
  3. Kane Williamson (NZ): Williamson played a key role in New Zealand’s Test series victory over South Africa, scoring 403 runs in two Tests, including twin centuries in the first Test and 133 in the second innings of the second Test.

Women’s Player of the Month Nominees:

  1. Kavisha Egodage (UAE): Egodage contributed with bat and ball as the UAE claimed silverware in the Asian Cricket Council Women’s Premier Cup, scoring 218 runs and taking eight wickets.
  2. Esha Oza (UAE): Oza, the captain of the UAE team, was the Player of the Tournament in the Women’s Premier Cup, scoring 249 runs at an average of 62.25, including a century against Oman.
  3. Annabel Sutherland (AUS): Sutherland starred in Australia’s Test victory over South Africa, scoring a remarkable 210, the fastest ever in women’s Tests, and also took crucial wickets with the ball.

An independent ICC Voting Academy and fans around the world will now vote to decide the winners, who will be announced next week. Fans can vote for their favorite performers until Saturday.

The ICC Player of the Month awards aim to recognize and celebrate the best performances in international cricket each month, highlighting the exceptional talents of cricketers from around the world.
