“I think he enjoys playing in the IPL” Shoriful Islam Claims Mustafizur Rahman Prefers IPL Over National Cricket

IPL’s unreal thrill is going on. Cricket enthusiasts are enjoying the thrilling T20 tournament. Teams are facing each other to achieve the ultimate goal. Last year’s defending champion Chennai Super Kings is having an exciting outing in this tournament. CSK bowler Mustafizur Rahman is showcasing his class by his excellent performance. His Bangladeshi teammate Shoriful Islam made a big comment about him.

Mustafizur’s Excellence:

Mustafizur Rahman, the Bangladeshi pacer, has found redemption in the Indian Premier League this season since joining the Chennai Super Kings. Emerging as the leading wicket-taker for the defending champions, Rahman boasts an exciting tally of 11 scalps to his name. His mastery over variations has proven effective, particularly on the slow home track of Chepauk, offering a significant advantage for both him and the team.

In just six matches for CSK this year, Rahman has showcased his bowling prowess by consistently troubling opposing batsmen and contributing crucial breakthroughs. His ability to adapt to different conditions and deliver impactful performances has solidified his position as a key asset in CSK’s bowling arsenal.

Shoriful Islam on Mustafizur:

Mustafizur’s Bangladesh teammate Shoriful Islam opened up about his current tenure with CSK, boldly stating that Mustafizur finds more enjoyment in playing in the IPL than representing the Bangladesh team. This assertion sheds light on Mustafizur’s preference for the IPL environment, indicating a significant shift in his perspective towards the two cricketing platforms.

Shoriful said, “I watch every game and every ball Mustafizur bowls. I talk to him the day after the matches. I think he [Mustafizur] enjoys playing in the IPL more than playing for the Bangladesh team. It is because the pressure is less there. Perhaps, there are a lot of expectations when playing for Bangladesh and you come under immense pressure if you don’t play well.”

Later he added, “He (Mustafizur) is performing regularly. It is just that he has been unable to perform in the last two or three games (for the national team). What I mean by pressure is that everyone’s expectations are quite high because of his performance over the last couple of years. Perhaps he couldn’t meet the expectations in the last one or two games.”
