“I personally feel it’s almost a done deal.” Former Indian Cricketer is All Optimistic About Ravi Bishnoi’s Selection in the  T20 World Cup

After the World Cup, India locked horns with Australia in a five-match T20 series. India bagged the series by a 4-1 margin. In that series, Ravi Bishnoi registered an exceptional performance. He entered the elite club by equalling Ravichandran Ashwin’s record. The T20 World Cup is coming soon. Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra expects that Ravi Bishnoi will be a part of India’s squad in the T20 World Cup.

Ravi Bishnoi in the T20 Series:

After the World Cup 2023, the senior players are on rest. In the absence of them, youngsters got chances. In the absence of Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav led the team in the T20 series. In that series, India dominated the Australian side and bagged the series. In this series, Ravi Bishnoi was one of the stars. He didn’t play the first match.

He started playing in the 2nd match. In the second T20 international against Australia, Ravi Bishnoi took 3 wickets in 32 runs. That was an impressive spell. In the third match, he created magic again. He took 2 wickets in 32 balls. In the fourth match, India struggled a bit. But Ravi Bishnoi took 1 wicket in 17 runs. In the last T20 match, Ravi Bishnoi picked up 2 wickets in 29 runs. He picked up 9 wickets in 4 matches. Ravi Bishnoi was awarded the Player of the Series because of his amazing performance throughout the series.

T20 World Cup and Aakash Chopra’s Prediction:

The ODI World Cup 2023 has been concluded a few times ago. Now the next target is the T20 World Cup. All teams are preparing for the next ICC event. The T20 World Cup will start on June 4 and is all set to conclude on June 30. The tournament will be held in the West Indies and the United States of America.

After the thrilling performance in the T20 series, Aakash Chopra thinks that Ravi Bishnoi may travel with India in the T20 World Cup in 2024. He said, “I personally feel it’s almost a done deal. I feel his name will be there because of the way he is bowling and the number of wickets he is picking. He is consistent. He is a wicket-taker and bowls with the new ball. The matches will be in America and the West Indies. Slightly quick in the air on slow pitches – I think he will bring value. The kid fields well and he is very accurate as a wrist-spinner. I feel if he keeps bowling like this and has a decent IPL, he is done a deal.”
