Harpreet Brar expressed his enjoyment of bowling on the surface. The left-arm spinner shared that after he had leaked 13 runs in the first over he had become a bit nervous.
“Enjoyed bowling on this surface. I leaked 13 runs in the first over, I was a bit nervous,” Brar stated.
He also shared his belief in his ability to come back on such a surface and mentioned that the ball was stopping a little in the first over, allowing the batters to play comfortably off the back foot.
He revealed his strategy of bowling fuller and making the batters commit to the front foot during his spell.
“I had belief that I could come back on this kind of a surface. In the first over, the ball was stopping a little and the batters were playing easily off the back foot. I tried to bowl it fuller in my spell and make the batter commit on the front foot, ” Brar continued.
According to him, the powerplay was crucial when playing on a slow wicket, and DC had a good powerplay. Rahul Chahar‘s good bowling from the other end helped him to get the wickets as they both aimed to bowl as many dot balls as possible and create pressure on the batters.
“When you play on a slow wicket, the powerplay is crucial. DC had a good powerplay. But Rahul bowled well from the other end and he put pressure on the batters, that helped me to get the wickets. We both had in our mind to bowl as many dot balls as possible and create pressure on the batters,” Brar concluded.Â
