Here’s The Reason Why Tim Southee Is Not Playing Today IPL Match 14 Against Mumbai Indians

The inclusion of Pat Cummins into the Kolkata Knight Riders squad was expected but a very few expected Cummins to replace Tim Southee. The New Zealand quick formed a fine combination with Umesh Yadav but he has to make way for Pat Cummins in today’s match against Mumbai Indians. Expectedly Shivam Mavi has been dropped. Rasikh Salam has received the KKR debut cap.

Meanwhile, KKR have won the toss and decided to bowl first. Speaking about the decision, Shreyas Iyer said, “We are gonna bowl first. We are comfortable chasing with a set target in mind. All the teams are equally good and we always have to take that winning mindset and try and back your abilities.” He added, We got two changes. “Pat Cummins comes in place of Southee and Rasikh Salam comes in for Shivam Mavi. Southee was very supportive and we had a good conversation about the team changes.”

On the other hand, Suryakumar Yadav will play today’s match for Mumbai Indians and has replaced Anmolpreet Singh in the line-up. Tim David has been replaced by Dewald Brevis. The South African batter is famous as the Baby AB and has been handed the debut Mumbai Indians cap.

Rohit Sharma said, “We were looking to bat first. We are not looking at what happened in the last 2 games, we have to play good cricket to win games and that is what we are prepared for. Looks like a good pitch. We have done well in patches and when you want to win games you gotta perform collectively and I think that is something that was missing in the last 2 games. Couple of changes. Surykumar Yadav comes in place of Anmolpreet Singh and we got Dewald Brevis who comes in for Tim David.”
