Here’s the Reason why Mukesh Kumar is not playing Today’s IPL 2024 Match 16 Against Kolkata Knight Riders

In today’s 16th encounter at Vizag, the Delhi Capitals are set to take on the Kolkata Knight Riders. During the toss, Delhi Capitals’ captain, Rishabh Pant, hinted at alterations to the team’s starting lineup. This announcement adds an element of anticipation to the match, as both sides vie for victory in the ongoing IPL 2024 tournament. The clash promises to be an exciting affair as the two teams battle it out on the cricket field.

Mukesh Kumar’s Absence:

In the latest development, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have won the toss and elected to bat first. Delhi Capitals (DC) skipper Rishabh Pant revealed that one of their key bowlers, Mukesh Kumar, will be sidelined due to an injury for the match against KKR. As a replacement, Sumit Kumar has been named in the playing XI.

This alteration in the lineup adds intrigue to the contest, as both teams aim to secure a crucial victory in the ongoing IPL 2024 season. The absence of Mukesh Kumar presents a challenge for DC’s bowling unit, while KKR looks to capitalize on the opportunity to set a formidable target with the bat. The match promises to be an enthralling battle between bat and ball, with each side striving for supremacy on the field.

DC Skipper Rishabh Pant said, “We would have batted first as well, could get a bit slower. It was nice to be back with the group, but I’m not thinking too far ahead. The bowlers did a great job, the fast bowlers, and we’d like them to do it once again. Not thinking about the team combination for the first two games, but we’ve had people working hard in the nets. We just need to keep doing the right things – one change, Mukesh is injured and he’s replaced by Sumit.”

DC’s Playing XI:

Delhi Capital’s playing XI against KKR for today’s match is Prithvi Shaw, David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Rishabh Pant(wk/c), Tristan Stubbs, Axar Patel, Sumit Kumar, Rasikh Dar Salam, Anrich Nortje, Ishant Sharma, Khaleel Ahmed
