Here’s the Reason why Mohsin Khan is not playing Today’s IPL 2024 Match 15 Against Royal Challengers Bengaluru

Lucknow Super Giants fans were dealt a double blow ahead of their IPL 2024 clash against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. While the return of skipper KL Rahul to full fitness brought some relief, the news of rising pacer Mohsin Khan’s absence due to a sore back cast a shadow over their bowling attack. Find out why Mohsin Khan is missing from today’s IPL 2024 clash against RCB.

Khan, a left-arm pacer, had enjoyed a decent start to the season, claiming three wickets in his two outings for LSG.  His absence left a significant gap to fill, particularly considering the struggles of his replacement, Yash Thakur.  In his only appearance this season, Thakur conceded a hefty 43 runs in just three overs without picking up a wicket.

KL Rahul Back at the Helm, But Bowling Concerns Remain

While the return of KL Rahul as a full-time captain provided a much-needed boost to LSG’s leadership, the team’s bowling attack remained a source of worry.  Speaking at the toss, Rahul confirmed the changes: “Just one change – Moshin Khan has a sore back and Yash Thakur comes in.”

The news highlighted the precarious situation regarding LSG’s pace battery.  With Khan unavailable and Thakur’s previous performance underwhelming, the team’s hopes rested heavily on their other bowlers.

Mayank Yadav: A Beacon of Hope for LSG

Thankfully, a ray of hope emerged in the form of LSG’s new pace sensation, Mayank Yadav.  Making his debut against Punjab Kings in the previous match, Yadav impressed everyone with his raw pace, consistently exceeding 150 kmph.  His impressive bowling also translated into wickets, as he dismissed key PBKS players Jonny Bairstow, Prabhsimran Singh, and vice-captain Jitesh Sharma.

Speaking at the toss, KL Rahul acknowledged Mayank Yadav’s impact:  “More than the victory everyone was talking about Mayank’s pace, he has been with us since the first season and was unlucky to miss out last season with injury.”  Rahul’s praise underlined Yadav’s importance in potentially mitigating the loss of Mohsin Khan.

With Mohsin Khan unavailable and Yash Thakur’s previous performance raising concerns, the onus falls heavily on the rest of the Lucknow Super Giants’ bowling attack.  Mayank Yadav’s debut performance offers a ray of hope, but his consistency remains untested.
