Here’s the reason why Lockie Ferguson is not playing today’s IPL match 9 against Royal Challengers Bangalore

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have decided not to include Lockie Ferguson in their playing 11 for the upcoming game despite the player showing signs of recovery. The New Zealand pacer had been sidelined from the team in the previous match due to fitness concerns.

Why is Lockie Ferguson not playing against Royal Challengers Bangalore?

Ferguson, who is a vital cog in the KKR bowling attack, has not been feeling 100% fit and was given time to recover. Although he is now available for selection, the team management has decided to take no chances and allow him more time to regain full fitness.

KKR will play their next game against Gujarat Titans on April 9, and it is unclear whether Ferguson will be available for selection for that match. The team will continue to monitor his progress and make a decision based on his fitness levels.

Lockie Ferguson is an integral part of the Kolkata Knight Riders squad with his pace and variations causing problems for opposition batsmen. The team will be hoping to have him back in action soon to bolster their chances of success in the tournament.

According to sources, Ferguson has been making progress in his recovery, but KKR’s team management is not willing to take any risks at this stage. The team is hoping that Ferguson will be fully fit and available for selection in the upcoming matches, but his recovery status remains unknown.

However, with the IPL being a two-month-long tournament, the team management does not want to take any chances with the players’ fitness. Fans of KKR are eagerly waiting for the New Zealand fast bowler to make a comeback, as his presence in the team can make a big difference.

Earlier, Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Faf du Plessis had won the toss and decided  to bowl first at Eden Gardens. RCB are also fielding a change  as David Willey has come in for the injured Reece Topley.
