Gujarat Titans spinner compares Pandya to Dhoni

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is often regarded as one of the coolest-minded players to have ever played the game of cricket. The former Indian Captain, on numerous occasions, has sailed India home despite being under tremendous pressure. Even under the direst of situations, MS Dhoni tends to keep calm and collected and does not let the oppositions get the best of him.

As the search for India’s future captain is surfacing, people have started to compare Hardik Pandya with Dhoni. Hardik Pandya is the frontline runner to be India’s next captain, and experts think he may be similar to Dhoni in a few respects. The latest to join this list is R Sai Kishore, the 26-year-old southpaw from Gujarat Titans.

What did R Sai Kishore say?

R Sai Kishore, who is a spinner for Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has made an interesting observation about his franchise skipper Hardik Pandya. Sai Kishore, who was previously a part of the Chennai Super Kings, feels that Pandya has similar leadership traits to legendary former Indian skipper MS Dhoni.

Addressing the reporters virtually, Kishore said, “Hardik and Mahi bhai are pretty similar in the way they handle things, they both are pretty calm.”

Sai Kishore further added, “One thing that I really admire about Hardik is his ability to handle success and failure equally; that is something very unique about him. He is a level-headed guy and that works”

R Sai Kishore eyeing India spot

It is every player’s dream to represent their country on the biggest stage and R Sai Kishore is no different. He feels that he has been performing well in the domestic circuit over the last few years and if he replicates the same performances for Gujarat this year, an India call-up may be soon on the cards for him.

“Yes, there are a lot of left-arm spinners in India and this (IPL) is a very good opportunity but I would like to be here now in the present and play well for Gujarat. In the last five years, my skill-set has gone up and I want to keep improving. If it happens that I do very well in the IPL, I am going to play for India.”, Sai Kishore told the reportes.
