After Glenn Maxwell’s excellent performance in the last match earned all praise. A leading media house published an article on Gautam Gambhir’s quote. The article claimed that Gambhir told against Virat Kohli after Maxwell’s double hundred. In the article, it was quoted, “ Virat Kohli would have taken singles on 195 if had he been there. But Glenn Maxwell chose to hit six that’s what makes him different.”

After watching this, Gambhir opened up about it on social media. He shared this article and wrote, “ What bullsh*t! When I say something I say it openly. To all the so-called verified handles-cite sources or apologize.”

Gambhir on Kohli:

India and South Africa faced each other at the Eden Gardens on November 5. The day was more special to fans because of Virat’s birthday. India was batting first. Kohli was outstanding that day. He scored an unbeaten century and registered his 49th century. This was his second hundred in this edition of the World Cup. he played an unbeaten knock of 101 runs in 121 balls. He smashed 10 boundaries with a strike rate of 83.47. That helped India put a big score on the board.

After Virat’s 49th century, Gautam Gambhir talked about that innings. He said, “ It was important for Kohli to bat deep and I feel it was at the end, just the last 5-6 overs where he slowed down a bit. Maybe because he was nearing a century. But I believe there were already enough runs on the board. It could have hurt India if they were batting on a good pitch.”

Later he appreciated the partnership between Kohli and Iyer. he said, “ Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer batted on a different planet today. Spin was the real deal on that pitch and both of them batted exceptionally.”
