Gambhir Calls Out RCB’s Attitude and Trophy Drought, Adds Fuel to IPL Clash Anticipation

On the 10th match of IPL 2024, Kolkata Knight Riders will face Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The classic face-off is more special because of their rivalry. Fans always wait to see this high-voltage match. This time, the rivalry becomes a little more spicier because Gambhir is back in the KKR camp as a mentor. His recent view on this rivalry caught the attention.

The electrifying Rivalry and Gambhir’s Words:

KKR gears up for their second IPL 2024 match against RCB at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, following a victorious start against Sunrisers Hyderabad. RCB, having triumphed over Punjab Kings at home, seeks redemption after losing to Chennai Super Kings in the season opener. With RCB yet to defeat KKR at home since 2015 and suffering two losses to them last season, anticipation for match No. 10 of IPL 2024 heightens.

Leading up to the exciting match in Bengaluru, broadcasters shared an interview featuring Gambhir, criticizing RCB’s attitude and their lack of IPL trophies despite their star-studded squad. This has intensified the anticipation for the clash. Gambhir said, “One team I always want to beat every time and probably even in my dreams was RCB. I just want to.”

Later he added, “They are the second-most high-profile team, a flamboyant team, with the owner, and the squad – Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers. Not won anything, but still thought they won everything, and that kind of attitude, I can’t take that.”

On RCB’s 49 All-Out Game:

Gambhir highlighted KKR’s top IPL matches against RCB, reminiscing about their three standout performances, notably the ’49 all out’ match. He said, “The three best wins that KKR have ever had were against RCB. The first game of the IPL…Brendon McCullum against RCB, then 49 all out and KKR scoring 100 in the first six overs. That was the only time probably when 100 runs were scored in the first six overs in IPL.”

He also said, “We always knew they had a strong side and probably the most aggressive batting unit as well – Gayle, Kohli, De Villiers. What can get better than that? If one thing I want out of my IPL career and love to have is go on the cricket field and beat RCB.”
