Former CSK Openers Murali Vijay and Michael Hussey Reunite in Practice Session, Sparked Nostalgia

Murli Vijay was an integral part of CSK. his greatest knock has also come for this franchise. He had long held the record for the highest score by an Indian in an IPL match. In 2010, he showcased his prowess with a remarkable innings of 127 runs from only 56 deliveries. This extraordinary performance took place during a match against the Rajasthan Royals at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Vijay’s stellar batting display left a lasting impression and solidified his position as a standout performer in the IPL.

On the other hand, Michael Hussey was a prominent figure for CSK during his seven-season stint from 2008 to 2015. Throughout these years, he showcased his batting prowess with numerous impactful innings, establishing himself as one of the league’s top performers. One notable highlight was his unbeaten 116-run innings off 54 balls against Punjab. His exceptional knock propelled CSK to a formidable total of 240 runs, ultimately securing victory for the team against the hosts.

Both batters have some excellent records in partnership. During the IPL 2011 final, they forged a formidable partnership of 159 runs in 15 overs, securing the franchise’s second consecutive title. Their success continued with another strong opening stand of 87 runs in the 2012 final, although the team faced defeat against Kolkata. Throughout the 2012 and 2013 seasons, Vijay and Hussey consistently delivered memorable performances, further solidifying their reputation as a dynamic opening pair.

They played two matches till now and registered with in both of those. Currently, they are the table toppers. In the next match, they will face Delhi Capitals in Visakhapatnam. The Yellow Brigade will try hard to carry on their prowess in the next match.
