After making his IPL debut against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kwena Maphaka, a talented young bowler from South Africa, faced a challenging start to his IPL career. The 17-year-old, who had impressed in the U19 World Cup earlier in the year, struggled in the match, conceding 66 runs in his 4 overs. This performance made his figures the joint-worst by an overseas player in the history of the IPL.
However, despite the tough outing, Maphaka found support and encouragement from two stalwarts of the IPL, Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard. Both players, known for their cricketing acumen and sportsmanship, came to Maphaka’s defense after the match.

Bravo, who currently serves as the bowling coach for Chennai Super Kings (CSK), posted a picture of Maphaka on his Instagram profile, accompanied by a heartfelt caption expressing his belief that the young bowler would bounce back stronger from this setback.
Bravo expressed confidence that Maphaka would bounce back from this setback. MI will next face Rajasthan Royals (RR) on April 1 at the Wankhede Stadium.
