Lionel Messi was furious after his side’s 2-1 defeat by Osasuna which eventually helped Real Madrid claim their thirty-fourth La Liga title. But now the captain wants his teammate to be calm to make an impression in the Champions League.

After Barcelona’s poor showcase against Osasuna and Real Madrid’s La Liga win, Lionel Messi hit out at his team in a TV interview. He reminded of the defeats against Liverpool and Roma in Europe to highlight the off-form. He feared that things might go worse for his team later. he also claimed that the team could face a similar situation and exit from Champions League as well at the hands of Napoli in the round of 16 with this form.
Since making such comments, Lionel Messi got time to think and cool himself down. He then decided to focus on the weakness and work on it. He has recently spoken about his side and colleagues and what they should do to avoid such situations.

“I think we need a little calm now, this break, to clean our heads and come back with more desire than ever,” Lionel Messi has opined. He has further added, “We have said everything that needed to be said, we’ve been self-critical.”
Lionel Messi has then shared about his future plans with Barcelona, “Now it’s time to work hard and give our all. There’s nothing left to talk about, we just have to show that things can change and today was an important step forward in that.” While speaking on their latest form, he has mentioned, “You don’t need to have the captain’s armband on to realise what we’ve done (this season). We’re all conscious of the fact we have to be much more consistent.”
Lionel Messi has finally reminded, “As the coach said the other day, there were games when we were very good in spells, but we have to maintain that over 90 minutes and in all games.”
