Cricket Ireland Confirms Pakistan White-Ball Tour in 2025

Cricket Ireland has officially confirmed a historic first men’s tour of Pakistan, scheduled for August and September next year. The series, part of the Future Tours Programme (FTP), will include three T20Is and three ODIs between Ireland and Pakistan.

The announcement follows Ireland Women’s successful tour of Pakistan in November 2022, where they played three ODIs and three T20Is. The decision to tour Pakistan was finalized after a meeting between PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi and Cricket Ireland chair Brain MacNeice.

While the PCB initially released a statement suggesting that Ireland would also play a Test series in Pakistan, the details of this agreement were later disputed. The PCB denied that any official agreement had been reached for a Test series, despite their earlier statement. A Cricket Ireland spokesperson stated that details of the tour’s fixture list would be discussed by the two boards in the future.

The tour marks another significant step in international cricket’s return to Pakistan, highlighting the country’s efforts to revive international cricket on its soil. The Pakistan men’s team is currently in Ireland, participating in a three-match T20I series, with the series decider set to take place soon.
