Big Loss Against DC On Home Ground Teaches Gujrat Titan’s Shubman Gill To “Move On And Come Back Strong”

It was not a happy evening for Gujrat Titans as they lost their match against Delhi Capitals at their home ground. The match took place at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad and was one of the fastest run-chases in IPL. GT’s poor planning led to their total runs being 89 in 17.3 overs. DC chased this target and scored 92 runs in 8.5 overs.

Regarding the turn of events in the match, GT captain and Skipper Shubman Gill said “Our batting was very average, and it is important to move on and come back strong.”

Shubman and the team are now trying to keep their head clear and focus on the upcoming matches. GT is next set to compete against Punjab Kings on Sunday, 21 April. It is to be noted that GT and DC will again be facing off on 24 April, 2024 at Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi. It will be definitely interesting to see the turn of events in these upcoming matches.

It Had Nothing To Do With The Pitch -Shubhman

Addressing the dismissals of his teammates in the match, Gill was quoted saying “The wicket was alright, if you see some of the dismissals, it had nothing to do with the pitch. Poor shot selection I would say.”

Afghanistan‘s Rashid Khan was the highest scorer for GT with 31(24) runs in his bag. The team saw several dismissals over the course of the game.

“We Have Won 3 and Will Hopefully win Another 5-6”

Gill as a captain seems to take a more optimistic approach towards the trashing the Gujrat Titans faced by Delhi Capitals. While talking about their chances of winning today’s game, the Skipper said “When the opposition are chasing 89, unless someone takes a double hat-trick, the opposition will always be in the game”.

Talking about the results of today’s match, the GT captain said “This is just the halfway mark of the season for us, we have won 3 and hopefully we win another 5-6 from the next 7 like in the last couple of years”. Gill was referring to the past IPL tournaments where GT performed well under their previous captain Hardik Pandya.
