There were anticipations of an India vs Pakistan contest in the final. But Sri Lanka have surprised one and all and made it to the summit clash. Afghanistan had absolutely thrashed them in the opening game. But Dasun Shanaka and his men have turned things around dramatically and won each game since then.
Pakistan, on the other hand, lost their first game against India. But they defeated the Men in Blue in the Super Four round. Their close victory over Afghanistan helped them secure a place in the final. However, their performances haven’t quite been up to the mark. They have struggled and it was evident in their previous defeat versus Sri Lanka.
There were two changes in the playing XI for the last game which was inconsequential. Dhananjaya de Silva came in for Charith Asalanka while Ashitha Fernando made way for Pramod Madushan. They could stick to the same XI for the final.
Pakistan rested Shadab Khan and Naseem Shah and brought in Usman Qadir and Hasan Ali. They should bring back Shadab and Naseem for the final game.
